FDI strengthens its electronics division with the integration of a new automated optical 3D inspection machine (AOI 3D) from CyberOptics, in partnership with GEMADDIS. This technological advance marks a significant step forward in improving the quality and reliability of the electronic boards produced by FDI.
State-of-the-art technology for precise inspection
The AOI 3D SQ3000 features revolutionary Multi-Reflection Suppression (MRS) technology, which eliminates multiple reflections caused by shiny components, ensuring accurate and reliable inspection. With a resolution of up to 7 µm and a height measurement accuracy of 0.5 µm, it is capable of detecting a wide range of defects, such as missing components, polarity reversals, insufficient or excessive soldering, and solder bridges.
Strategic integration into the production process
Installed in an island, the new AOI 3D now supervises the output of FDI’s three SMT lines, ensuring real-time quality control. This integration enables early detection of defects, reducing rework costs and improving overall production efficiency.
