KONE 100-floor – Activation card

Description

In a conventional elevator access control system, readers are installed in the elevator cabs.

User calls the elevator, enters the cabin, presents his badge and presses button for the destination floor. The buttons corresponding to the authorized floors light up when the badge is presented.

For residents, only the floors of their apartments and parking lots are illuminated. However, for a janitor, all floors can be authorized.

The iPassan control unit then provides a dry contact for each floor and each elevator. For example, in a 40-storey building with four elevators, that’s 120 iPassan relays to connect to the elevator controller.

Integration with Kone COP (Elevator Control Panel) follows the same model as conventional elevators, but here, communication between access control system and elevator is based on the Tcp/ip protocol.

In the previous example, 120 iPassan relays are no longer required.

Integration with Kone Cop accomplishes this task without the need for additional hardware. The number of floors included in activation code is specific to each control unit. For example, an activation card for 200 floors covers the needs of a control center managing four elevators, each serving 50 floors.
